Twenty one year old, Robert Muraine, a now popular performer was choose for this commercial in Canada. He first showed up on the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance?” and is a real star in Canada. http://www.fox.com/dance

In the commercial, Robert used up lot of moves, and there are only so many a performer of his kind can do. This commercial also involves an another dancer, a woman. The two set up a room, with all new Ikea products, but the entire time they are dancing, and bounding around the room.

Technologies are usually presented like a men field, but this is changing.

According to a survey from a French magazine Marie-Claire, there are many women in United States than men browsing on the web, as in France where 56% of the internet users are woman. The study identifies three types of technologic woman: the “linked woman” whose technologies are a way to communicate, exchange and a way to keep contact with people, the “increased woman” whose use internet in the daily-life, like a way to be more organised and fast. Finally, the “experimental woman”, who’s attracted by the pleasure, internet is a way to know themselves better and to be more creative.

Screens’ war : Internet VS Television

Nowadays, it’s a fact that young people (teenagers and young adults between 15-34 years) spend more time surfing on the internet than watching TV.

According to a recent survey from Mediametrie, a french research statistics institute, the time spared by young people watching TV has gone down by 15 minutes per day in one year.
To put a figure on it, they spend 145 minutes per day in June 2008 instead of 160 minutes in June 2007.
Internet has serious advantages in comparison of TV: no program time table to respect, huge mass of information available every time, quicker and for free; interactivity and simultanity of activities (watching videos, sending emails, chatting on messenger and so on…). Besides, society has changed and the heart of this change is that people want to feel like actors and not like as simple spectators anymore.

To compete with this dangerous mass media and to win back this important audience whose gone to the Web, TV channels decided to define a new strategy for this new start 2008/2009: refresh their programs.
TV Channels announced this week their new projects to captivate young people again: Web TV and TV debate shows starring young people where they discuss current subjects with their own words and analyze. TV Channels will also compete with the web with pilot episodes as sneak preview, fans’ discussion forums and creation of groups on social network websites, which are very liked by young people and being more and more successful, as Facebook for example.

And what can we expect for the future? According to Louis MISSIKA, a french sociologist and expert of medias, there will be a new way to consume audiovisual programs: shorter ones, adapted with mobile phone viewing, with more and more community practices.
So the only way for TVs channels to survive is to always follow new trends and to adapt themselves to our every-day changing society.”
